Team Blizzard Race
If you’re an intermediate to expert skier or snowboarder and ready to stir up some friendly race competition, this program is for you! Whether you want to learn new skills or move up the ranks of the Minnesota State High School League, our outstanding coaches can help you achieve your goals. Each week, you’ll train with your coaches to learn everything from fundamentals to advanced strategies and tactics for Slalom, Giant Slalom, and even Downhill! Helmet and goggles are mandatory.
Racers must be in Color Level Brown or above. If you’re new to Blizzard and aren’t quite sure about your skiing skills, our Testers will meet with you during your first few weeks to make sure your ability level is a good fit. (If you’re not quite ready, you’ll participate in the Classic Program until you reach Brown.)
Racers will have at least one Color Level lesson during the day to continue building foundational skills, or they may freeski/ride with friends. Building solid technical skills is the path to the ultimate snowsports experience on the slopes and in the race course! Racers are responsible for their own independence and time management, with support from our coaching staff.
Team Blizzard racers compete up to twice (weather permitting) in the region’s biggest league, The Ski Challenge, local NASTAR races, or other competitions, subject to availability. You provide your own transportation to races and pay a reduced Trip Fee for your lift ticket. All competition fees are covered by Blizzard!
