Team Blizzard Race

If you’re an intermediate to expert skier or snowboarder and ready to stir up some friendly race competition, this program is for you! Whether you want to learn new skills or move up the ranks of the Minnesota State High School League, our outstanding coaches can help you achieve your goals. Each week, you’ll train with your coaches to learn everything from fundamentals to advanced strategies and tactics for Slalom, Giant Slalom, and even Downhill!

Highlights:

  • No Racing Experience Needed – Great for first-time racers and experienced athletes alike
  • Focused Race Training – Weekly coaching in Slalom and Giant Slalom.
  • Snowboard – Snowboarders also train for Snowboardcross, Slopestyle, Rail Jam, and possibly Halfpipe, focusing on a different discipline each week leading up to competitions.
  • Consistent Coaching Staff – Build relationships and progress week-to-week with the same core coaches in a supportive environment
  • Race Opportunities – Several competition opportunities each season
  • Color Level Lesson Each Day – Continue developing all-mountain foundational skills
  • Fun & Social – You’ll have time to free ski and ride with friends
  • Life Skills Beyond Racing – Gain independence, time management skills, and personal responsibility

Fine print:

  • Helmet and goggles are mandatory.
  • Athletes must be in Color Level Brown or above. If you’re new to Blizzard and aren’t quite sure about your skills, our Testers will meet with you during your first few weeks to make sure your skill level is a good fit. (If you’re not quite ready, you’ll participate in the Classic Program until you reach Brown.)

Competitions

Team Blizzard racers compete up to twice (weather permitting) in the region’s biggest league, The Ski Challenge, local NASTAR races, or other competitions, subject to availability. You may need to provide your own transportation to races and pay a reduced Trip Fee for your lift ticket is a competition is not at the same area as the regular Blizzard trip. All competition fees are covered by Blizzard!
