Family Assistance Fund

Blizzard Ski & Snowboard School is committed to socioeconomic diversity in our programs, and to making skiing and snowboarding financially accessible to all families. To achieve this vision, we have established the Blizzard Family Assistance Fund to assist families who might not otherwise be able to afford to ski or snowboard with Blizzard. The program is funded by donations from members, staff, and Blizzard itself.

The Blizzard Family Assistance Fund has awarded over $62,000 to get Minnesota youth involved in skiing and snowboarding — lifelong activities the entire family can enjoy!

New Fiscal Sponsor!

The Minnesota Ski Areas Association (MNSAA) Educational Foundation is the new fiscal sponsor for the Blizzard Family Assistance Fund! In addition to connecting us with the larger Minnesota snowsports community, this exciting new partnership brings the power of MNSAA-EF’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit status to the Blizzard Family Assistance Fund — meaning your donation is now tax deductible! (Consult your tax advisor for details.) We are excited about the opportunities this creates for future programming and grants.

Consider donating today to help others enjoy our great Minnesota slopes with Blizzard!

Partner Shops

In limited cases, our local specialty retail partners have also supported award recipients by reducing barriers to equipment that is current, fully functional, and properly sized. Once an award is made, potential equipment options may be discussed with the Blizzard office.

Applications

Funds are allocated as needed and as available. Applications are normally accepted through the fall, and awards made in October each season. In extenuating circumstances, later applications and awards may also be considered if funds are available. Please contact the office with any questions.
